Editing Your Profile
How do I edit my profile?Click 'edit profile' in right hand corner of Your Activity screen. Or alternatively click 'my profile' then 'edit profile' on the right hand side.
How do I change my photo?Click 'Edit Photos' in the right hand corner of Your Activity screen. Or alternatively click 'my profile' then 'edit photos' on the right hand side.
Administering Your Account
How do I change the email address my emails are sent to?From Your Activity screen, click 'settings' in the right hand corner. Or alternatively click 'My Profile' then 'My Account', then click 'change'.
How do I change my password?From Your Activity screen, click 'settings' in the right hand corner. Or alternatively click 'My Profile' then 'My Account', then click 'change'.
How do I change when or how often I receive emails?From Your Activity screen, click 'settings' in the right hand corner. Or alternatively click 'My Profile' then 'My Account', scroll to Email Notifications make changes and save them.
How do I cancel my account?From Your Activity screen, click 'settings' in the right hand corner. Or alternatively click 'My Profile' then 'My Account', scroll to Account and click De-activate.
Your Homepage
What are the Recent Matches?These are newest members that match your basic search criteria (sex/age/location/). These are refreshed every night.
Where do I sign out?Just under your name there is a link to log out of the system.
Finding People
How do I find other members?You can search for members by clicking 'Search' in the navigation bar. Or alternatively you can view the 'new matches' from your homepage.
How can I make my search more specific?Click on the link that says 'more search options' in the search results page. You can then change what you are searching for and click the 'update search results' button.
I'm not having much luck!Keep logging in regularly, this will make you appear at the top of the search results. Check out the new members and try favouriting some people. Try setting your status to get attention.
Recommending
I can't seem to recommend anyone? Why not?This is because you don't have any single friends on datemymate. You need to recommend someone to the site first!
Favourites
How do favourites work?When you select someone as a favourite they will see that you have done so. You will also be notified when someone has added you as a favourite -- these members can be viewed in the 'My Favourites' page.
I was emailed saying I have a new favourite but there's no one there!A member may have added you as a favourite by mistake or quickly changed their mind.
Meddlers
What are meddlers?Meddlers are members who have signed their friends up to datemymate. Everyone who signs up a friend becomes a meddler automatically.
What is my meddler status?This is a reflection of how many people a meddler has signed up. The more people a meddler signs up, the higher their status becomes!
Blocking
Will someone know if I have blocked them?No, if you choose to block someone they will not be notified.
How do I un-block someone?At the moment the only way to un-block someone is to notify us that you would like to do so by emailing admin@datemymate.co.nz . We are working on this feature.
Can I tell if someone has blocked me?No.
